Even though either of the two books in this trilogy that I’ve read so far could be read as standalone novels, N.K. ![]() I’ve known for a while now that I have a thing for middle books. ![]() Someone, somehow, is murdering godlings, leaving their desecrated bodies all over the city. This act of kindness engulfs Oree in a nightmarish conspiracy. Oree Shoth, a street artist, takes in a strange homeless man on an impulse. In the city of Shadow, beneath the World Tree, alleyways shimmer with magic and godlings live hidden among mortalkind. I’m actually a little heartbroken and want to dive straight into the next one.įirst sentence: I remember that it was midmorning. Even more than with the first in this loose trilogy. But I gotta start somewhere, right? And I was enjoying myself a lot again. I know I’m behind on her works and everybody has already finished her new books, The Killing Moon and The Shadowed Sun. I can’t say what it was exactly, but I felt a pull towards more books by this author since I read The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms earlier this year. ![]()
